Xero Training

Everything you need to know to use Xero like a pro

Want to get your bookkeeping done simply?

Bookkeeping can be confusing.

And not everyone has the funds to outsource their bookkeeping.

What if I told you that you could learn to do it yourself, simply, easily, no fuss.

Interested?

Xero can help you keep your books up to date like a pro

I’ve been in the accounts industry for 15 years now. And for 5 of those I ran my own bookkeeping firm. I used all the usual programs, Xero, Reckon, Sage, QuickBooks, and MYOB. And every time Xero came out on top as easiest to use for you – the business owner. Yes, they all do the same thing – but it’s how you get there that matters.

Now, I exclusively train clients in Xero. If I can teach my 60yr old tradie Dad to use Xero, I can teach anyone. He does his books in less than 15 mins a week, and lodges his own BAS. Not bad for a bloke who’s Mrs always did his books for him. I’m also a qualified Trainer & Assessor, and while you wont walk away from our training with a qualification (not yet anyway!) You can be assured that I can adapt to your preferred learning style.

What is this course better than the help section on Xero?

I often hear clients ask “should I do a bookkeeping course?” and the truth is those formal courses are really designed for people wanting to works in accounts departments of large corporations, or want to run a bookkeeping firm. They are full of extra jargon and quite honestly, can be very confusing. My Xero Booking Course has that great mix of how to use the program, but also explaining the premise behind the program features.

What do I need to know about getting help with my Bookkeeping?

In Australia, any bookkeeper offering BAS services must be a registered BAS agent with the Tax Practitioners Board.

BAS service is defined in the Tax Agent Services Act 2009 (TASA) as:

  • ascertaining or advising about the liabilities, obligations or entitlements of a client under a BAS provision; or
  • representing a client in their dealings with the Commissioner of Taxation in relation to a BAS provision; and
  • where it is reasonable to expect a client will rely on the service to satisfy liabilities or obligations or to claim entitlements under a BAS provision.

In English? If you are registered for GST then all of your bookkeeping requirements need a BAS Agent. If you are not registered for GST, it’s still a good idea to use a BAS Agent. This way you know your bookkeeper holds the correct qualifications and has completed a minimum of 1000 hours of relevant experience. They also are required to hold insurance. BAS Agents are required to complete Professional Development each year to keep them up to date with changing laws.
